MAKIN' MOVIES IN MACON IS MACON MOVIE MAGIC AND QUITE OF FEW OF THEM!

Harrison Ford is here now making a baseball movie called "42" but Clint Eastwood was in town about four months ago making another baseball movie, "Trouble with the Curve"

On a previous post, I highlighted that Harrison Ford is in town making a moving based upon Jackie Robinson titled "42." They continue to shoot outside in downtown Macon today. About four months ago, Clint Eastwood was in town shooting another baseball movie due to be released soon, titled, "Trouble with the Curve."

Macon has a vintage baseball stadium that is being used in "42" and in "Trouble with the Curve" as well as with "Bingo Long" filmed here some years back.

Wise Blood which is a movie based on Flannery O'Conner's novel was filmed almost entirely here. Flannery is from Millegeville about 30 miles east of here but attended Mass here in the 1950's.

Other movies made in the Macon area are:

Bingo Long
The Crazies
Fried Green Tomatoes
Something to Talk About
Wise Blood

The following are movie trailers from these movies:

I saw Wise Blood when it came out; watched it again with my wife last year after she read the book. The movie was a good try, but I don't think its braintrust understood the book.

Although I still enjoyed the residential shots of Macon. That reminds me, wasn't the roominghouse on a hill? I thought Macon was flat.

Downtown Macon is at the precipice of ga's fall line so st joseph is on a slope and the hill continues to grow northward.
