GREAT FEAR IN MY HOMETOWN WHERE SAINT JANUARIUS GRANTED ME A MIRACLE IN AN UNCONVENTUAL WAY

Concern in Naples:
First time in 30 years that
Blood of St. Januarius did not liquify

There is concern among the Neapolitans (like me) because the blood of the Saint Januarius, the patron saint of Naples, Friday was not liquid. It's been thirty years since this has not happened. The guardian of the relic, Mgr. Vincenzo De Gregorio, the faithful called to the Cathedral in order not to panic. He asked them to keep praying.
Three times a year, especially on the feast day of St. Januarius in September, thousands of streams applied in the Naples Cathedral to see if the coagulated blood of the holy liquid. That is also the case on December 16, the day of the commemoration of the warning of the eruption of Vesuvius in 1631.
The absence of the miracle is considered by Neapolitans as the announcement of impending doom. That was particularly the case in 1939, on the eve of World War II.The last time the miracle was forthcoming, it was in 1980, when there were 2,900 people killed in an earthquake in Irpinia. It was the most devastating natural disaster in the Italian postwar period.

The miracle rests upon the Mystery, not vice versa.

Why is Saint Januarius so rigid? My guess is he has some psychological disorder, if you dig deep enough.

It has always been regarded as ominous if the blood doesn't liquefy. But what can we expect in these present times when the Faith has fallen so low? I am particularly thinking of the concerns raised over Amoris Laetitia.

Cardinal Burke has indicated that there will be a simple response to the Amoris Laetitia in 2017:

"“The dubia have to have a response because they have to do with the very foundations of the moral life and of the Church’s constant teaching with regard to good and evil, with regard to various sacred realities like marriage and Holy Communion and so forth,” Burke said during a telephone interview.

“Now of course we are in the last days, days of strong grace, before the Solemnity of the Nativity of Our Lord, and then we have the Octave of the Solemnity and the celebrations at the beginning of the New Year – the whole mystery of Our Lord’s Birth and His Epiphany – so it would probably take place sometime after that.”

The cardinal, who is the patron of the Sovereign Order of Malta, said the format of the correction would be “very simple.”

“It would be direct, even as the dubia are, only in this case there would no longer be raising questions, but confronting the confusing statements in Amoris Laetitia with what has been the Church’s constant teaching and practice, and thereby correcting Amoris Laetitia,” he said."

Jan:

Thank you for the link. It is much appreciated (and not only by me I suspect).

As for reading the signs, perhaps it is a response to the election of Donald Trump. =)
